R/D Scythe thumper Pve
Got abit bored today and tried a rao build out, but switched too scythe, a thumpers strong side is there damage and kds, but in pve, kd's are farless important(didn't say not needed, just not as powerful).
The usual standard of a NF thumper are:
Rampage as one
Comfort animal
Charm animal
Ressurect skill of choice
with 3-4attack skills, and sometimes a defensive skill.
This is what im running at the moment on my R/D:
Victorious sweep
Irresistible sweep
Eremite's attack/Chilling victory
Disrupting lunge/Banishing strike/Chilling victory/Defensive stance
Rampage as one
Comfort animal Charm animal
Ressurect skill of choice
Scythe Mastery: 12
Beast Mastery: 9+1
Expertise: 9+1+3
it has no energy problems, and can spam attacks freely pretty much, as they only cost 2energy each(except chilling victory)
what i was thinking of was going higher Beast mastery and lower expertise too 9, for longer RaO, more pet damage, and if using a pet attack, more damage throu there. But in the end i think it will even out, as you will not be able too spam attacks as much, but gain abit more damage throu you're pet.
A Dervish will most likely make a better job at this, but thought it would be fun, as constant ias and run speed is quite nice.
Any idea's or comments are welcome. Please note that this is for pve, it might adept too pvp, i do not know, a pure thumper would probably be better.
((Sorry if this has been discussed before or been posted a similar build, wasn't able too see anything from the search engine))

Disclaimer: I am a dervish noob. I don't like/feel comfortable/have fun with melee professions (warriors, sins, dervishes or even paragon despite the fact they can attact at -small- range) so keep that in mind.
2 things bugs me in your build:
1/ the pet. Originally (the good ole days of Proph') bunny thumpers had a per for energy management via Ferocious Strike. Of course as you gotta spend many attribute points in BM for RaO bringing a pet may sould like a good idea - I'm not saying it's not, but... it's not absolutely needed... but.. see 2/
2/ I can't find any defensice skill in your build. Yes, you're right to point at the very good AL of rangers vs element but that's going to save your *** in PvE. You NEED as a ranger at least one defensive stance to survive, or you're going to be a pain for your monk. So why not frop Charm/Comfort for either 2 defensive skills or 2 defensice skill + apply poison for example?

As i've mostly played this build in a hero/hench team, starting going throu NF for the X time, it hasn't been needed, but as i stated, its easy too implicate 1-2defense skills, on the cost of offense(which most likely will be needed in the torment and upwards).
And too use RaO i need 10 in bm minimum for constant upkeep(not really needed but around 8-10bm), A pet, and a pet ressurrect/heal skill, as if my pet dies, most of my damage goes out the window.
Dumping pet, means dumping RaO, which means dumping the core.
As i've said i have only played with it in lower areas, but having fun.

I tried it, and a few people might be runnin it but, it just doesn't seem to be effective. It's already bad enough that some enemies in pve got extra armor. Ranger's can't make use of a scythe's huge damage range. A 'sin can. A warrior with wild blow/primal rage can.
I found myself doing very low damage usin a scythe, even sometimes when attacking the suit of 60 armor.

I ran a pretty standard RaO thumper build on one of my rangers through NF and it worked pretty well, so I would assume that this build would be able to do just fine.

I use a Very simplier PvP Build like Yours, but i have eremites and chilling and also whirling defense. I find it works well in Pvp for a bit of healing rather than running to death like normal thumpers.
